Pet Exams Wellness

Annual Pet Exams Wellness & Preventative Care - Veterinarian 242 Animal Hospital - Dogs Cats Vet Clinic The Woodlands Conroe Montgomery Willis - CAT & DOGAnnual pet exams form the foundation of your pet’s healthcare plan and give your cat or dog the best chance at a long, healthy life.

Pet wellness visits are also the perfect time to ask questions, particularly if you’ve just added a new pet to your family!

In addition to a thorough nose-to-tail physical exam, our comprehensive wellness visits include the following preventive measures when appropriate:

Vaccines

Currently, the rabies vaccine is the only one mandated by Texas law. Other vaccines, such as the leptospirosis vaccine for dogs and the feline leukemia vaccine for cats, will be recommended based upon your pet’s individual risk factors.

Diagnostics

Your veterinarian may recommend diagnostic tests such as bloodwork or fecal and urine tests to check for the presence of underlying conditions. When illnesses are caught early on, treatment is typically more effective and less stressful for your pet.

Parasite Control

Fleas and ticks thrive in our warm, moist climate. Our Conroe, TX, veterinarians can help you choose the best product for your pet. Heartworm prevention is also critical for both cats and dogs in our area because heartworms spread through the bites of infected mosquitoes.

Microchipping

A microchip can improve your pet’s chances of being returned home safely should he or she ever run away. The procedure is as simple as administering a vaccine; your pet just feels a quick pinch.

Nutritional Counseling and Weight Management

Chronic conditions such as diabetes and other kidney disorders, obesity, and allergies can greatly impact our pets’ quality of life. Your pet’s discomfort can often be mitigated with something as simple as a special diet. We can help you choose the best food to suit your pet’s needs.
